Practicing open focus

Last night I practiced seeing the flash/open focus for about 20 minutes.  When I started I could only read 10/200 on the chart, and the letter (E) seemed a darker black than normal.  After a while, I was able to read 10/60.  However, I fell asleep near the end, so I did not get to practice as long as I had wanted.

Congratulations Mark!!! This is WAY exciting~ I’m so glad you’re seeing so much improvement. It is quite interesting that simply changing the location of attention can bring such drastic visual improvement.

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hmmm… if I describe my recent observations (from open focus) as levels of awareness, there would be two categories. First, for the physical relaxation of my muscles, I increase my awareness. I have to actively search my body for tension and release the muscles. Second, for the relaxation of my mind, I decrease my awareness. I have to stop trying to do a vision task or stop thinking of many things at once in order to have a calm mind. I had never thought of it this way before. 8)

Furthermore, my Thanksgiving was wonderful, and I hope yours went well as well!

This is the direction I’m heading to as well! These two levels of awareness are quite interesting. Previously I was always “trying” to improve my vision, but now I’m simply letting myself see from a different perspective without effort and the cleared vision follows.

I think you’re right, Open Focus is a way to change awareness and perception.

I’m glad you had a good Thanksgiving. Mine was well too! Thanks!

I’m proud of you; I’m sorry you were too tired at the end. You’re a pretty busy man, though. Your eyes were telling you to rest!
